UN House South Sudan – UNMIS

The Secretary General of the United Nations visited Southern Sudan in 2007 to initiate the UN compound. The intention was to establish a compound for the Headquarters and for common premises for all UN agencies based in Juba, the capital of Southern Sudan.

UNMIS has taken on the management for this project and is responsible for the master plan, infrastructure, and security measures. UNMIS is constructing their buildings, e.g., offices, accommodations and additional buildings such as recreation, hospital, etc.

The compound will accommodate premises for about 1500 office staff and will establish accommodation buildings for about 400 staff plus additional measures for recreation, infrastructure health, etc.
